Can Children Ride the Bus?
Yes, children are welcome on the ATA Bus! In order to provide a safe, positive experience, there are some requirements for children riding the bus. Please read below to make sure you can be prepared!

All children under the age of eleven must be accompanied by an adult on demand response and fixed route trips.

Children under four years old must be in a child safety seat

Children 4-8 years old must be in a safety or booster seat unless they weigh more than 80 lbs. or are taller than 4 ft. 9 inches tall.

The child must be secured with an appropriate child seat provided by the parent or guardian. The parent or guardian will properly fasten such devices using the vehicle seat belts.
Costs for Youth
Here is some basic information on the costs for youth to ride the bus. Click on the link below for more detailed information on fares.

Any person between the ages of 7 and 17 can receive their Fixed Route Fare for half of the price. Please present an ID if possible.

Children age 6 and under ride free on Fixed Routes.

Children age 10 and under ride free on Demand Response.
Riding the Bus is Fun
There's no better way to explore the Flint Hills Area, than by taking the bus. You hop on, sit back in your seat, watch the scenery go by, and the next thing you know, you’re where you want to go.
